I would even venture that Al the Bore even knew Colonel Forrest and wanted to grow up to be like him.

That Rhetorical Question of yours "Was he witness to the maybe hundreds of times that the ice caps ebbed and flowed over time?" goes back to the Book of Job, which Gore also pretends to have written.

Confidential to Al: Are you convinced that what I said about Jews, in particular about Operation Jonathan which took place at Entebbe Airport, wasn't Anti-Jewish? Would it surprise you if I could name a half a dozen Jews who were accomplished Anti-Semites (Reinhardt Heydrich-Suss, Julius Streicher, Torquemada, Robert J. Fischer, Alfred Rosenberg, and Adolf Schicklegruber)? I am aghast that you would think such evil of me, and that I would be worthy to join their numbers.

Mad Dog aka AnonAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30316379.post-41266216431008630412007-07-08T09:32:00.000-07:002007-07-08T09:32:00.000-07:00And tell me "anonymous", just how many eons has Al...And tell me "anonymous", just how many eons has Al the Bore been around for.

Was he witness to the maybe hundreds of times that the ice caps ebbed and flowed over time?

He obviously doesn't even remember the Democrats frantic warnings of the "Global Cooling" episodes of the '60s!brooklynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15415635384212497141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30316379.post-81310803519897896562007-07-04T21:38:00.000-07:002007-07-04T21:38:00.000-07:00I recommend you read the actual studies James Tayl...I recommend you read the actual studies James Taylor claims are debunking Al Gore. For example, the 2006 study on Himalayan glacier growth is not refuting global warming but observes anomalous behaviour in a particular Indian region which shows short term glacier growth in contrast to the long term, widespread glacier retreat in the rest of the Himalayas. There's no disputing glaciers are retreating - a 2007 satellite study of Himalayan glaciers observed an overall deglaciation of 21% from 1962 to 2007. Globally, glaciers are shrinking in area and thickness and the melt rate has accelerated dramatically since the mid-1990s. The 2006 Himalayan study is the exception that proves the rule.

Re Greenland, a big clue is the study's title: Recent Ice-Sheet Growth in the Interior of Greenland. The study finds ice mass in the interior due to heavier snowfall - an expected side-effect of global warming - and doesn't factor in all the melting that occurs at the edges of the ice sheet. Overall, Greenland is losing ice according to satellite measurements <A HREF="http://www.skepticalscience.com/Using%20time-variable%20gravity%20measurements%20from%20the%20Gravity%20Recovery%20and%20Climate%20Experiment%20(GRACE)%20satellite%20mission,%20we%20estimate%20ice%20mass%20changes%20over%20Greenland%20during%20the%20period%20April%202002%20to%20November%202005.%20After%20correcting%20for%20the%20effects%20of%20spatial%20filtering%20and%20limited%20resolution%20of%20GRACE%20data,%20the%20estimated%20total%20ice%20melting%20rate%20over%20Greenland%20is%20–239%20±%2023%20cubic%20kilometers%20per%20year,%20mostly%20from%20East%20Greenland.%20This%20estimate%20agrees%20remarkably%20well%20with%20a%20recent%20assessment%20of%20–224%20±%2041%20cubic%20kilometers%20per%20year,%20based%20on%20satellite%20radar%20interferometry%20data.%20GRACE%20estimates%20in%20southeast%20Greenland%20suggest%20accelerated%20melting%20since%20the%20summer%20of%202004,%20consistent%20with%20the%20latest%20remote%20sensing%20measurements." In his defence, the study by Philip Mote came out after Gore's film was made. But Mote puts it in perspective: "The fact that the loss of ice on Mount Kilimanjaro cannot be used as proof of global warming does not mean that the Earth is not warming. There is ample and conclusive evidence that Earth's average temperature has increased in the past 100 years, and the decline of mid- and high-latitude glaciers is a major piece of evidence."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30316379.post-55411225274021505312007-07-04T00:54:00.000-07:002007-07-04T00:54:00.000-07:00It is amazing how Algore sells himself indulgences...It is amazing how Algore sells himself indulgences (i.e. Carbon Offset Credits). By what authority does he do this?
