The No Confidence Congress

(L-R) US Senators Mel Martinez, Lindsey Graham and Ted Kennedy (AFP/Chip Somodevilla)

It's like a punchline in a bad joke. Whose approval ratings are lower than President Bush’s? Why Congress’ are!

Congress’ approval ratings are at a low, low 29% now that’s a vote of no confidence from the American people.

It spite of recent polls showing America's no confidence in this Congress, this group of Bush hating political opportunists are set to stage a vote of no confidence in the Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.

Having no evidence of wrong doing against Mr. Gonzales this Democratic controlled Congress has resorted to attempting to shame the attorney general from office. Gonzales should not step down. To bad that Democrats have no shame.

Senator Feinstein
would be shamed for the “Milcon” Iraq war profiteering Scandal, Speaker Pelosi would be shamed for the recent San Francisco $15 billion Water Resources Development Act scandal, Rep. John Murtha would be shamed for the Abscam scandal and his recent House ethics rules scandal and Senator Harry Reid would be shamed for $30,500 Jack Abramhoff related moneys, his land deals and his recent the “war is lost” pronouncement while our troops are in harms way scandals.

But, irony of ironies a Congress the American people has no confidence in is going to vote that they have no confidence in AG Alberto Gonzales.

Why that’s like former Clinton National Advisor Sandy Berger announcing that he has no confidence in our National Archives’ security. (Now that’s funny!)

What’s next the Congress deciding that they have no confidence in President Bush? Oh that’s right they’ve already done that. Or that they have no confidence in our soldiers at war in Iraq? I’m pretty sure that failure to fund them while they’re in the field of battle is as close to a vote of no confidence as you can give them Speaker Pelosi and Senator Reid!

This is political buffoonery of the highest sorts; Democrats are in no position to be voting no confidence in anyone. 64% of American’s don’t approve of Congress' job performance. If Democrats wish to vote for something let them vote for equipping and supplying funding for our soldiers and send a war funding bill to the President before Congress goes on vacation for Memorial Day recess so that our troops will not be fighting unfunded in Iraq.

Senators I hate to break it to you but there is a reason that used car salesmen enjoy more popularity than the U.S. Congress right now and though you Democrats have worked so hard to drag the President’s popularity down even he is polling higher than Congress.

So go ahead and have your little meaningless vote just know that this Congress is no longer trusted by the American people. That’s right; America has no confidence in you Congress!

It must feel good to know that those of you who tried have accomplished your goal of destroying the people’s faith in their government and look it only took you eight years in which to do it!

Congress you’all must be so proud!

Liberals Create Cloud over White house

President Bush standing in front of members of his Cabinet

Predictable! You had to see this one coming. Democrats and their supporters are attempting to label the Bush administration clouded and awashed with scandal using Attorney General Alberto Gonzales’ Democratic created troubles to launch what Democrats believe is a litany of Bush related Republican crimes and malfeasants.

True, President Bush did promise to "restore honor and integrity" to the White House. He also pledged to usher in a new era of bipartisanship. But for nearing eight years Democrats have successfully sabotaged the President’s every attempt to keep his promises.

However it is Democrats who have refused White house overtures for bipartisanship relations as they have disrespected the office of the Presidency and disrespected the President personally.

But in spite of Democratic attempts pay back for the Clinton impeachment President Bush has restored honor to the White house.

Nevertheless, how quickly they forget the Clinton legacy of corruption and scandal; I don’t think that anyone really wants to go there by attempting to equate the Bush administration with scandal, but in case you do here’s a reminder about the most scandal ridden corrupt Presidency in U.S. history.

Clinton legacy

47 individuals and businesses associated with the Clinton machine were convicted of or pleaded guilty to crimes with 33 of these occurring during the Clinton administration itself. There were in addition 61 indictments or misdemeanor charges. 14 persons were imprisoned.

If we want to talk White house scandal that term is synonymous with Clinton not Bush, let’s be clear Clinton is only president ever impeached on grounds of personal malfeasance, Under his administration was the most number of convictions and guilty pleas by friends and associates, most number of cabinet officials to come under criminal investigation, most number of witnesses to flee country or refuse to testify, most number of witnesses to die suddenly, first president sued for sexual harassment, first president accused of rape, Hillary was the first, first lady to come under criminal investigation, largest criminal plea agreement in an illegal campaign contribution case, first president to establish a legal defense fund, first president to be held in contempt of court, the Clinton presidential campaign had the greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions, greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions from abroad, and President Clinton holds the dubious honor of being the first president disbarred from the US Supreme Court and a state court.

In spite of all of this not a peep from Democrats who now want you to think that they are concerned with corruption!

According to our best information, 40 government officials were indicted or convicted in the wake of Watergate. A reader computes that there was a total of 31 Reagan era convictions, including 14 because of Iran-Contra and 16 in the Department of Housing & Urban Development scandal. 47 individuals and businesses associated with the Clinton machine were convicted of or pleaded guilty to crimes with 33 of these occurring during the Clinton administration itself. There were in addition 61 indictments or misdemeanor charges. 14 persons were imprisoned. A key difference between the Clinton story and earlier ones was the number of criminals with whom he was associated before entering the White House. –The Progressive Review, http:// prorev.com/legacy.htm

I don’t hate to say I told you so but I’ve been saying that this Senate hearing regarding Attorney General Gonzales was only to discredit the Bush White house and nothing more.

The real scandal is how a partisan media and a rival political party conspired to invent scandal and attempt to discredit a sitting President by politicizing everything from the war to President Bush’s attempts to keep the American people safe from terrorist attack.

The cloud, if you will, is really over U.S. media and the Democrat party. Americans are seeing more evidence of partisanship over patriotism everyday and Democrats and the media are awashed in it!

Topically the media in reporting about one side of the political spectrum will reference something about the other side to balance out and give some perspective to what they are reporting.

It is not surprising to me that in the two links that I’ve provided the writers attempt to make their point about scandal regarding the Bush White house but failed to mention the Clinton White house why do you suppose that is?

I’ll tell you why, it’s the cloud of scandal that is over this general media and its partisan supporters of the Democratic Party!

Adiós Alberto No Deja la Puerta Golpearle…

Senate Judiciary Committee in the 109th Congress, including incoming chairman Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vermont). (photo credit — Newsday)

“I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out!”—Rodney Dangerfield

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales went up to Capitol Hill to save his job but much to his surprise he found out that he was front and center at an impeach Bush by proxy hearing and he was the surrogate of the moment.

Liberals and Democrats riled that they could not defeat George W. Bush in 2000 and 2004 by lying on him and attempting to steal both elections have reverted to a more subtle strategic of kicking the legs from under the Bush administration by bush whacking the President’s lieutenants and thereby isolating him for the remaining less than two years of his term.

AG Gonzales totally unprepared for this ambush, thought that if he when before the Democrats and recognize his faults and apologize (a Democrat formula) that he would receive mercy and be thrown back for bigger fish. But as fate would have it Gonzales is the biggest fish that Democrats have netted thus far.

Oh not for lack of trying, Democrats attempted to net President Bush with, “He lied us into war” for the 2004 elections but failed. And then they used the “Who outed Valerie Plame” scenario to badger the President, Vice President and White house adviser Karl Rove for two whole years but alas that didn’t work either.

Dems have been more successful with relatively political big fish like John Ashcroft, Tom Delay, Mark Foley and of course the Jack Abramoff incident has helped net relatively political small fries Rep. John Doolittle (R., Calif.) and Sen. Conrad Burns (R., Mont.), Rep. Randy Cunningham (R-CA) and Rep. Bob Ney (R-OH).

However Gonzales is the closest strike at the heart of the Bush administration a hit here would mean that the President is at the Democrats mercy to confirm another Attorney General now that the Democrats control Congress, and we all know that Democrats are not feeling very merciful toward Republicans these days.

Republicans on the other hand are showing all the political savvy of a first time elected city council member who run on a bet made with friends and as chance would have it won.

Since the 2004 Presidential elections Republicans have been out politicized by their rivals. They make rank amateurs look like consummate professionals which brings me back to AG Gonzales who apparently thought that if he when up to Capital Hill acknowledged his wrong-doing that Democrats would treat him as a fellow politician spank his hand and let him go, what he didn’t realize was that Democrats are not interested in supporting the Bush administration they are only interested in the contrary its deconstruction.

What in the eight years of President Bush’s administration would make anyone believe that any Republican before a Democrat controlled hearing wouldn’t come out with his ears pinned back?

Come on does anyone really believe that Democrats care whether AG Gonzales hurt the Bush administration’s credibility? Hell Democrats have been trying to do that for going on eight years! In fact that is what these hearings are designed to do, hurt the Bush administration. That’s the real reason Democrats are holding them nothing else.

Are you listening Karl Rove? Señor Gonzales this was not a hearing to allow you to justify your actions whatever motivated them. This hearing was only to show you the door. The door to your exit and vicariously the whole Bush administration.

To which Democrats will say…”Vaya con el dios”

But actually they don’t really care how you go just as long as you are gone. And I’m sure that they wouldn’t mind if you take the President with you!

Gonzales should not resign nor should be fired but Republicans are not like Democrats whose money freezer storing,Abramoff moneyed, conflict of interest dealings and lying are business as usual for Democrats. Unfortunately Gonzales will leave office.

The Jerry Seinfeld Democratic Senate Hearings

That’s right they’re hearings about nothing! Oh I take that back, they’re actually hearings about striping the Bush administration of all support making the President a weak isolated powerless lame duck because Democrats couldn’t defeat him in two Presidential elections so now the sweetest revenge is to hold asinine hearings on totally peripheral matters in order to lash out at the Bush administration for his remaining two years in office.

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales in his appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee is being grilled for statements he make in a press conference last month, during which Gonzales said he was not involved in discussions over the firing of eight U.S. attorneys.

Gonzales has subsequently recanted his remarks but here is the bottom line.

Even if Gonzales fired all eight attorneys he did nothing wrong! Hillary Clinton has so much as said that she would do the same thing if she were elected president. Second Gonzales made his statement in a press conference not as sworn testimony.

Was Gonzales’ original statement wrong? Yes Gonzales like all jelly kneed Republicans got scared when Democrats started ranting about the “injustice of it all” even though Democratic President Bill Clinton set the precedence by firing all 93 of the U.S. Attorneys, instead of Gonzales standing up like a man and saying yes I fired them and there may be more following, he attempt to hide his involvement thereby producing the inquisitionist senate hearings that Democrats are holding today.

To be clear there was no violation of law committed by anyone Alberto Gonzales included but because Democrats now have the power to make legal acts appear illegal by the use of senate hearings no Republican is safe in Washington D.C. No doubt these are sham hearings and travesties of justice.

For Republicans who have joined with Democrats to persecute Gonzales let me remind you of the mid-term elections of 2006 when many of your more Liberal colleagues was defeat by Democrats. Does Lincoln Chafee ring a bell? In other words your consorting with the Democrats will not save you.

Gonzales is been persecuted for public statements that he made any Democrat would be run out of Washington if Republicans could hold hearings on Democratic public statements.

These hearings are not so much about Alberto Gonzales; these hearings are about the abuse of senatorial power and the deconstruction of the Bush administration other than that these hearings are about NOTHING!

Deporting Alberto Gonzales, U.S. Attorney

Start the bus because the Politicalchickens in the Whitehouse are going to throw AG Alberto Gonzales under.

Oh he won't be sent across the border to Mexico, after all he isn't illegal, but Democrats will definitely find that he did something illegal and deport him right out of Washington D.C. Even if he's innocent of breaking the law.

The Feckless Democrats and some of their lap dog Republicans allies are working public opinion with hearings designed to come to one conclusion remove another of the President’s political aides.

At this rate I’d be surprised if Democrats will allow Laura Bush to remain in the White house for the President's remaining 2 years, Lord knows if Democrats come after her there’s not a Republican who would or could fight for her. Heck there isn't a Republican willing to fight for anything right now. (Troops you're coming home!)

It all over, this U.S. Attorney firings is a non-issue a so-what but Republicans are running for the hills like they are Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA)and they've lined their own pockets with billions of dollars of tax payers money in a self enrichment scam, not competent politicians who made a decision and are standing by it.

Why would I say that this is a non-issue? The underlining claim is that the Bush White house is persecuting prosecutors in a knee jerk political reaction to prevent them from prosecuting Republicans. However that couldn't be true because there were those in the White house considering these firings as long as two years ago!
And all the evidence points that the considerations were based on performance not politics!

But more than two years ago, Rove had sought input from the Justice Department on how many U.S. attorneys should be retained in the second term.

That is exactly what Senator Hillary Clinton said should be done!

Yes, even Hillary is speaking up and she's admitted to the fact that her husband's administration fired 93 U.S. Attorneys for purely political reasons and she's cocky enough to say that she'd do it again!

[Senator Clinton] conceded that should she win the presidency in 2008, she likely would replace all of the U.S. attorneys appointed by President Bush. She said that's merely following traditions in which presidents appoint prosecutors of their own party.

So what's the big deal? It's political! Democrats have made everything political, they've made the 2000 and 2004 elections political, the war in Iraq political, confirming U.S. Supreme Court Justices political, Valerie Plame political, John Ashcraft political, Karl Rove political, and now AG Alberto Gonzales is victim of the politicizing of everything that the Republicans do.

It's a game, a con, like everything that the Democrats do! Just put and keep up the political pressure on the White house and before you know it 2008 rolls around and we'll all be singing hail to the Cheifette before anyone realizes the con job that was just played on the American people.

There were no laws broken, nobody's going to jail but with Senate hearings crippling the White house for the remaining 2 years of his Presidency, President Bush is going to look like an embattled, weak ineffective incompetent instead of the leader of the free world! Yeah even the terrorist are liking this!

That's two birds with one stone, diminish the out going President and besmirch any incoming Republican with the memory of two years of a scandal ridden Republican White house. Works every time!

Like the Democratic front runner said, She's in it to win it. There's another old saw, All's fair in love and war. And Republicans thought that the war was only over in Iraq?

Both are lessons that Republicans will probably take another 49 years of Democratic total control of government to learn!

So turn on each other Republicans, jump ship, point fingers because Republicans are going down. Heck you stand a better chance of being an illegal alien and staying in America than Alberto Gonzales has of remaining in the White house for the next two years with weak kneed Republicans bowing and scraping before every Senate hearing that the Democrats feel like they want to call.

To bad Alberto can't get a million or so illegal's to march it the streets for him. No one has more clout in D.C. these days than illegal aliens backed anything.

Maybe after the President accepts Mr. Gonzales' resignation Alberto can go work the fields in Mexico for his next job. President Bush seemed to like it, yeah he liked it alot!

If You Didn’t Come to Fight You Might as well Resign!

"And so this department has been so political that I think for the sake of the nation, Attorney General Gonzales should step down," == Charles Schumer

When there is a change of leadership in the animal kingdom all of the threats to the new leadership are eliminated. Lions are notorious for this behavior.

January 20, 1993 Bill Clinton was sworn in as 42 President of the United States. February 11 of that same year President Clinton nominates Miami prosecutor Janet Reno for the post of Attorney General and on March 23 1993, something was done that was never done in the history of America.

At Attorney General Reno’s first news conference she announces the firing of 93 federal prosecutors, that’s all U.S. Attorneys in the nation. Reason? The administration wanted to eliminate any threat to its leadership. The official reason stated by AG Reno was the administration wanted to put in its own people. Clinton wanted Attorney Generals who were loyal to him and his administration.

So is the law of the jungle so is the law in politics.

Democrats have found a measure of success in chipping away that the Bush administration; they couldn’t get the President in two electoral attempts so they are doing the next best thing which is pulling away at those who support the president. That is what behind this partisan Democrat call for Attorney General Alberto Gonzales to step down.

They’ve been relatively successful at it too, they managed to sack John Ashcroft, split away Colin Powell, remove Tom Delay, neutralize Karl Rove, demonize Dick Cheney and now they are howling for Attorney General Alberto Gonzales’ to resign.

This is a ploy, a roost that weak kneed Republicans just haven’t seemed to figure out.

These days Republicans stand around watching as the Democrats in Nazi like fashion come for their colleagues and these liverless Republicans say nothing. They do not consider the fact that when the Democrats finish going after their colleagues then Democrats will turn and come for them. You didn’t get the message of the 2006 elections Republicans? When Democrats come for you there will be no one left to fight for your sorry excuse of a political hide.

Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., said Attorney General Gonzales repeatedly has shown more allegiance to President Bush than to citizens' legal rights since taking his job in early 2005.

What a laugh! What a spectacular partisan statement in light of history. President Clinton in an unprecedented move fires 93 United States Attorneys to sure up loyalty to his administration and Janet Reno the ultimate Clinton boot licker watches the FBI burn down a compound in Waco Texas killing David Korech and his followers, children among them and not one investigation into why and how it happened, yet Schumer continues the plan yes he continues the meme. Resign!

The plan is make the White house, a humpty dumpty White house, one that will have a great fall for lack of key support around President Bush.

President Bush you didn’t learn anything from the Clinton presidency did you? You tried to work with holdouts from his administration only to be sabotaged every step of the way. You were sabotaged by Senior Advisors and Clinton holdover, Richard Clark, you where even sabotage by the CIA’s Mary McCarthy, a senior analyst just to name two.

When you finally fired a few U.S. Attorneys because they would not carry out your administration’s goals you waited until Democrats could turn the firings into political hay. That sir was not smart!

What you should have done from the outset is fire everyone who was connected with Bill Clinton. Oh it’s too late for you but here’s hope that perhaps another Republican administration will not be so trustingly naïve.

Resign, resign, resign…If someone doesn’t get a grip in the Republican Party quick, I think that resigning might not be a bad idea for all!
