Death Panels confirmed

Star wars Death Star assuming new duties under Obama Health Care
The stubborn yet false rumor that President Obama’s health care proposals would create government-sponsored “death panels” to decide which patients were worthy of living seemed to arise from nowhere in recent weeks.-- Jim Rutenberg and Jackie Calmes
The beauty about being a Liberal is that you can call someone a liar while it is you who is actually doing the lying by doing so!

Confusing? Well not as much as the recent row over death panels in the Democrats Health Care Reform bill. Gov. Sarah Palin has been pronounced the latest Conservative nut job because she actually read the bill and discovered a provision that allow a provision for end of life “health care.”

This is a provision that Senators, getting a clue from the controversy that such a revelation has caused, have thusly yanked from their version of the health care bill. (see story)

Which is interesting because everyone from the media to Barack Obama where dispelling the very notion that there was such an idea as committees making end-of-life decisions but a lot can be hidden in 1017 of unread pages.
“There are some things I've been hearing lately that we need to dispose of. The rumor that's been circulating around lately is, the House of Representatives somehow voted for death panels that will basically pull the plug on Grandma 'cause we've decided it's too expensive to let her live anymore.

This arose out of a provision in one of the House bills that allows Medicare to reimburse people for consultations for end-of-life care. The irony is, that actually one of the chief sponsors of the bill [Republican Sen. Johnny Isakson] ... very sensibly thought this is something that would expand people's options, that got spun into this idea of death panels. I am not in favor of that. I want to clear the air here."
–Barack Hussein Obama
The fact is the health care bill passed by three House committees allows Medicare to reimburse doctors for voluntary counseling sessions about end-of-life decisions. Such a provision the Senate concluded could be misinterpreted or implemented incorrectly and could lead to death panels and euthanasia for seniors so they dropped their version of that provision.

That’s exactly what Gov. Palin said! Yet assuming that Palin is a Conservative therefore she could not be right the media jumped to the defense of their fellow Liberals in government and pronounced Palin wrong which was a lie on the Media’s part.

So once again we get the false headlines that Conservatives are wrong and false when in actuality it is MSNBC and the president who are wrong, misleading and false. (see example)

Which again speaks to little Julia Hall’s question to Barack Obama how can kids (or anyone) know what is true?

Knowing what is true has become increasingly more difficult with the Obamedia (a fusion of Obama worship and media partisan reporting) and the Obama administration working hand-in-hand to obfuscate reality with socialist propaganda and a neo-socialist worldview.

One thing is for certain Americans are not going to arrive at the truth by listening to the Obamedia, Democrats in Congress or the Obama administration.

Only voices like Sarah Palin can counterbalance the false claims of Obamedia and the president with truth. And as the Senate demonstrated Gov. Palin was right the president is wrong again on this issue as he has been wrong on so many!

What's wrong with living wills? Why is it wrong to consult doctors, letting them in advance what measures I want taken in certain situations? Whats wrong with letting them know that if I get into an accident and I end up brain dead, to pull the plug, instead of keeping me alive? Or the reverse, to keep me alive no matter what.

What's wrong with letting a doctor know that when I have terminal cancer, not to take heroic measures to save me and keep me alive a little longer? To let nature takes it's course and be done with it. Or letting a doctor know in advance to take heroic measures to save me regardless of my suffering?

These couple examples illustrate why living wills is a good thing. It's about giving me the power of my own life while I still have the mental faculties to make this decison with a trained professional.

This is a good thing. Why would you twist it into something evil and fear monger? The only reason I can think of is republicans want to score some political points against Obama. It's sick.

You my good sir are an idiot. I bet you can see Russia from your house also.

  3. Anon,
Your post is quite deceitful I hope your thinking isn't like what you wrote on your post.

While there is nothing wrong in general with all the things that you've mentioned.

You are not arguing the point. The point is government should not be involved in telling people when it's their time to die.

In that context everything is wrong with government being involved in all of the points that you outlined.

Govt can't run "cash for clunkers," social security is going bankrupted, post office is in the red and the DMV is a mess.

We don't need 1017 pages of addition bureaucracy with death committees hidden within those pages with no way that citizens would have any redress against the decisions that these unaccountable unelected people make.

  4. Anon,
An Idiot is one who has no arguement, they typically resort cheap ad hominem attacks in place of any salient points.

I have made my arguments where does that leave you?

  5. Politifact.com, a non-partisan fact-checking project that blasts Dems as often as GOP, gives the "Death Panel" story its "Pants on Fire" rating for truthfulness.

  6. Red Flag,
Sorry but I’m always skeptical of bandwagon posts attempting to justify the Liberal perspective. Especially when this administration and it’s media cohorts have been so deceptive with the American people.

According to tampabay.com the St. Petersburg Times, which is the publisher of Politifact.com, is a Liberal leaning newspaper. (see below)

The St. Petersburg Times is shown featuring more progressives than conservatives, with 43 percent of columnists considered progressive and 29 percent considered conservative. Just three other newspapers in the state featured more progressive voices than conservative: The Palm Beach Post, the Ocala Star Banner and the New Smyrna Beach Observer.

And then there is this, information from the blog Pondrings. According to Pondrings it has done a check on the nonpartisan nature of Politifact.com and it found that according to Politifact.com Conservatives lie twice as much as Liberals and they lie about Liberals all of the time.

That may be nonpartisan to you but don’t count on any Conservatives going along with your assessment. (see below)

    The Truth About Politifact.com

I’ve been seeing a lot about how Politifact.com is a “nonpartisan fact checking web site.” When I saw the sponsors included a major newspaper well known for its liberal bias, the St Petersburg Times, I had a funny feeling this isn’t a “nonpartisan” site by any stretch of the imagination.

I went and poked at their “truth-o-meter,” and this is what I found.

    • In the first four pages of those items marked “false,” there were 72 instances of Republicans being accused of making “false” statements
    • In these same first four pages, there were 36 instances of Democrats being accused of making “false” statements.
    • Of the false statements attributed to Democrats, they were focused on statements made by Mr Obama about Mrs Clinton, or statements made by one of the Clintons about Mr Obama.

If you believe Politifact.com, you’ll see that Republicans lie twice as often as Democrats, and they lie about Democrats all the time, while Democrats only lie under the pressure of the campaign about other Democrats. Where are all the lies, for instance, from Mr Obama’s lastest speech? Nowehere to be found. Another liberal effort of appearing to be fair, while, in reality, carefully choosing the points of discussion so only one side of the picture is shown.

Sorry I’m can’t accept your source of truth at this time but the Senate’s dropping of the death panel legislation from their version of the bill seems to confirm that Gov. Palin was telling the truth and even Liberal Senate Democrats agree with that by their actions!

They were death panels all along! Obama wants to kill our Grandmas!

Blogger, have you ever taken a second to just stop and think about how stupid you sound?

  8. Facts only sound stupid to those who wish to impose their own biases on reality. A blind man calling me blind or a stupid man calling me stupid just doesn’t carry much weight with me. Sorry!

This is how the Chicago Tribune reports the senate action because apparently they didn’t think the claim was stupid or frivolous:
The Senate Finance Committee is taking the idea of "end-of-life care consultations" with doctors off the table as it works to craft its version of health care legislation, a Democratic committee aide said Thursday.

Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa, the ranking Republican on the committee, said the panel dropped the idea because it could be "misinterpreted or implemented incorrectly."

Now, did you know how this make you appear stupid to me?

  9. Wow, it looks like your blog is starting to attract a
few more Obamabots, Alaphiah. I guess I will just
have to stick around a lot more. Some of these people
aren't satisfied to just drink the kool-aid, it looks
like they want to swim in it too.

  10. Yeah RC there seems to be a push orchestrated and designed to go on the attack against what Obamabots consider anti-Obama blogs.

One of my favor blogs Texas Darling is mysteriously shut down after disclosing a blockbuster revelation concerning Obama's BC.

TD and Alas Shrugs were hot on Obama's trail. So I'm guessing that Obama has sent out his blog-thugs to attempt to bully any "Fishy" activities in cyberspace. (LOL)

But they don't know me very well, do they? (smile)
