Pelosi says use your imagination to get gas and oil

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi

STEPHANOPOULOS: But why not allow votes on all that? When you came in as Speaker you promised in your commitment book "A New Direction for America," let me show our viewers, you said that “Bills should generally come to the floor under a procedure that allows open, full, fair debate consisting of full amendment process that grants the Minority the right to offer its alternatives.” If they want to offer a drilling proposal, why can't they have a vote?

PELOSI: They'll have to use their imagination as to how they can get a vote and then they may get a vote.
NewsBusters, transcript of Interview on “this week”
One question very simply posed by former Clinton White house aide and now “This week” news show host George Stephanopoulos to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi last Sunday on "this week."

If Mr. Stephanopoulos ask this question once he asked it a million times, Speaker Pelosi if you are right why don’t you allow a straight up or down vote in Congress on drilling oil as the American people want.

Mr. Stephanopoulos even showed the Speaker of the House her own words where she said that under her leadership the House would be run ethically and fairer than under Republican control prior to 2006.
A New Direct for America

Regular order for legislation

Bills should generally come to the floor under a procedure that allows open, full and fair debate consisting of a full amendment process that grants the Minority the right to offer its alternatives, including a substitute.
--Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (See document)(See video about 8mins)

Clearly if the Congresswoman’s position was correct surely that would be born out by a Democrat majority House of Representatives would show the American people’s interest.

So why won’t the Speaker of the House allow a vote on whether America should be able to drill for oil in America to decrease American dependency on foreign oil?

Congresswoman Pelosi’s answers were insultingly stupefying and opaquely serpentine even for a Democrat. And like a political Fairy Godmother she pronounced, "They'll have to use their imagination as to how they can get a vote and then they may get a vote."

Then continuing in typically Democrat fare the Congresswoman blamed President Bush as the reason that she did not allow a vote for drilling for oil. Ridiculous! (See video about 7mins)

It is a further insult to the American people’s intelligence that 7 years of Democrats attempts to sabotage the Bush administration and Republicans at the risk of losing the Iraq war thereby making the world less safe could be understood in any way that what Democrats were really attempting to accomplish was to save the planet and make the world safer.

Congresswoman Pelosi and the Democrat majority should be ashamed of themselves and they should rush back to Congress and do their jobs like the Republicans who are fighting for the American people.

Something to think about in November I must say!

Two can play that game. Right now, I'm imagining Nasty Nancy impeached and being frog-marched to prison.

  2. That's the problem with imagination, very little usually results from it. Sadly, no oil and no prison.

  3. The best punishment that she can get for her TRECHERY and her refusal to keep ANY of her promises, is to VOTE HER OUT!!!!!!

But then, the Dumbocrats have always had that tendency to be led like sheep to the slaughter.

  4. Yes and unfortunately some RINOs have succumbed to that Democrat trechery. But I agree she should be voted out along with her Democrat clan.

I notice, in retrospect, that Nancy's daydream and my daydream are closely linked. If her daydream backfires and doesn't come true, doesn't that mean that my daydream becomes more likely?

Nancy, would you like to rethink your daydream?

I also daydream that certain people would find the correct spelling of TREACHERY, a word that I expect will be used a lot for this election cycle.

  7. Maybe some people shouldn't be so critical of simple spelling errors.

Some of us only have a short few minutes to type ad post to this blog.

It strikes me that critical people shouldn't hide behind "anonymous" labels.
