Democrat’s God Problem

Madam president I am always moved to hear the pledge of allegiance that marks the beginning of a new legislative day in the United States Senate. On the hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the beginning of the civil war the words, ‘one nation […]indivisible’ means more today than most other days. —Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid
In 2006 I quoted this passage concerning Democrats’ piety:
“A prince,” wrote Niccolo Machiavelli in 1532, “must appear to all who see and hear him to be…pious…faithful…honest…humane, and completely religious. And nothing is more important than to appear to have that last quality.”

A prince need not actually be religious, the Renaissance political analyst hastened to add, and will probably be more effective as a ruler if he is unencumbered by genuine religious scruples. But a prince must appear to be religious “because the masses always follow appearances…and the world is nothing other than the masses.”

I was making the point then that Democrats’ acts of piety are at best acts. So what is it with Democrats? You’d think that the word God was the new “N” word. Senator Reid commenting on the pledge of allegiance just couldn’t bring himself to say the “G” word.

We are all aware of the president’s serial denial of the Creator as he attempted to cite the Declaration of Independence numerous times without referring to the “C” word. (see 1:49min video)

As I wrote in 2006 Democrats polled and found that voters considered their Party godless. So did they find God? No they did something better they just gave the appearance that they respected the majority’s belief in God by feigning that they also believed in God.

What is so ironic is at that time Sen. Barry Hussein Soetoro scolded his fellow Democrats explaining to them that mentioning God was not inappropriate.

Democrats have had a revelation. They realize that they are perceived as a godless party largely because of their constituency and their political positions, which supports abortion, homosexuality and the anti-God policy of separation of church and state. They also realize to win elections they need to reach out to people who are religious.

Even Democratic rising star Sen. Barack Obama chastised fellow Democrats for failing to "acknowledge the power of faith in the lives of the American people…” Sen. Obama said, "Not every mention of God in public is a breach to the wall of separation.

It is doubtful that children reciting the Pledge of Allegiance feel oppressed or brainwashed as a consequence of muttering the phrase `under God,”

So why does Soetoro and Reid have so much trouble acknowledging the Creator or simply saying the word God now?

I’ll tell you why, as I explained in 2006 Democrats decided to use religion as a clever ruse to be elected in 2006 and 2008. Since elected we see that Democrat piety was just an act. it appears that now the president and the Democrat majority leader are finding it difficult to say the “C”word or the “G”word.

Niccolo Machiavelli would indeed be proud to know that someone is putting his theories into practice and they actually work.
