Might these Republicans one day regret their decision to retire? McCrery muses about a failed Barack Obama presidency, pulled down by tax hikes and excessive spending and too many favors for organized labor. If that happens, Republicans could do as well in 2010 as they did in 1994.Fred Barnes reports on a phenomenon that I wrote about previously, Republicans who will not fight for Conservative principles. Here and here.
"If I thought I had a better than 50-50 chance of being chairman next year, I'd run," he says. But he's not running precisely because he doesn't think that. –Fred Barnes, the Weekly Standard
Unlike their Democrat counterpoints it seems that Republicans are selfish weak-hearted quitters that do not have the courage of their convictions.
And if America is on its way to hell in a hand basket you can thank these hapless Republicans for clearing the road to make a more safe and comfortable trip.
Jim McCrery of Louisiana, Ray LaHood of Illinois, Tom Reynolds of New York, and Tom Davis of Virginia are only a few Republicans who knowing the great peril that their country and their Party faces are quitting thereby making their Party’s prospects even bleaker.
Yes these men have served their country same for 20 to 35 years and now because they are out of power they are quitting.
Why? No elected Conservative leadership that’s why. All twelve years that Republicans were in power in both houses of Congress they were a fractured and splintered group.
At the same time that they were being undermined by the Democrats, who were in the minority for the twelve years that Republicans were in power, Republicans that were sympathetic to their Democrat rivals were also undermining their own Party.
Not to mention that Republicans rejected their own Conservative principles and fell subject to corruption, overspending and they rejected Republican Party loyalty for titles like maverick, moderate or compassionate.
Republicans have no one to blame. No one but themselves, they rather quit than fight that’s why I recommended that all incumbent RINOs be challenged in their primaries by Conservatives so that the rebuilding of the Party can begin.
Although the Economy is not cratering as expected (meaning that the tide is shifting in McCain's favor), I still expect Obama to win , as you do.
ReplyDeleteObama shows every sign of becoming a failed President, and will succeed next Spring in what the Democrats couldn't do this year, that is, make the Economy crater.
As per Barack Obama completing his term in office, let's just say that I expect Ex-President Barack to be in Ulan Bator with a couple of suitcases full of money on Inauguration Day in 2012 if he doen't take the pistol after himself first.
