Thousands or Millions spent for a “got ya”?

It has been reported that president Barry Hussein Soetoro has spent over two and a half years and over 2million dollars in public and private legal fees to prevent his long form birth certificate from being disclosed until last week. While the actual dollar amount may never be known the president revealed that he’s been watching the birth certificate debate for 2 ½ years with amusement. (source here and here)

So let me understand, you are the president of the United States of America. You knew that questions about your birthplace were swirling around your candidacy and subsequently your presidency from the beginning and then up to 2 ½ years. Further, you had the means to clarify the issue at any time before you became president but you decided to wait until the subject almost impeded your re-election so that you could get maximum yuks and chuckles at voting Americans expense? Well you did it Mr. President you Punk’d America. Got ya! Or Got us! America you've been Punk'd by the President!

You got America Mr. President and doesn’t it feel good! You got those birthers. You got the crazy lunatic fringe. You got those bitter and frustrated xenophobes that cling to their guns and religion. You got those returning Vets who may be potential homegrown terrorist (according to Janet Napolitano). And you got Donald Trump.

You got us all we’ve all been punk’d by our president and boy isn’t it funny, so funny that Ashton Kutcher laughed. And so funny that the president did a full on stand-up routine in front of Mr. Trump at the 2011 annual White house Correspondents dinner aimed specifically at Mr. Trump but also aimed indirectly at all Americans that dared to ask for proof of the president’s legitimacy.

That’ll show them weak kneed John Boehner, Eric Cantor, John McCain Republicans from ever asking this president to justify himself when that is exactly what they should be doing. They’ll be too scared to do that now (Not that they weren’t already too afraid).

It seems that the president just wanted to “Punk” Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton and the hundreds of thousands of Americans who wanted to see proof of his eligibility, well we’ve all been punk’d!

Here’s the president demonstrating much glee and in his best class clown put down mode telling off the America people via Donald Trump for questioning the secrecy that surrounds his life’s story. Notice the references to being a real American and how the president begins with, “My fellow Americans” and “Mahalo”. (see 5:13min video)

Well played Mr. president you’ve punk’d all of your enemies and then mocked them with derisive comedy showing once again that you are the bigger person. You were clearly smarter than everyone in the room and in America.

But it was just last week when you were forced to reveal your birth certificate that you said, we didn’t have time for things like this. You said we had pressing issues at hand that we need to be united around and work together on, remember that? You said we have better things to do, that you had better things to do. I guess thumbing your nose at Mr. Trump and the hundreds of thousands of people that he represents wasn’t what you had in mind when you said you and we as a nation didn’t have time for birth certificate controversy?

But yeah got ya! I get it, very funny. But let’s not forget who caused this controversy. It was you Mr. President by your own admission. See you could have prevented any controversy from ever occurring by holding a press conference 2 ½ years ago as you did last week. You could have released your long form then.

Mind you, I’m the last person that would want to begrudge someone of his or her amusement. But I’m thinking someone who is truly a uniter, someone who truly has the good of the country at heart and someone who promised to have the most transparent presidency in the history of the United States of America would not have made a question that the American people asked a prolonged divisive secret, especially when all this time you had the simple means to clear up the American people’s concerns. Yet it was all fun and games to you huh?
But wait a minute what about that transparency thing?

Transparency -- President Obama has committed to making his administration the most open and transparent in history, and WhiteHouse.gov will play a major role in delivering on that promise. The President's executive orders and proclamations will be published for everyone to review, and that’s just the beginning of our efforts to provide a window for all Americans into the business of the government. You can also learn about some of the senior leadership in the new administration and about the President’s policy priorities.—The White house blog

Didn’t you promise the American people during your campaign and in your presidency that this would be the most transparent administration ever? Here let me help you to remember.(see 1:29min video)

So why so secretive Mr. president? Why, Mr. president did you allow Americans to go through 2 ½ years of not knowing, though the needless worry and concern, when you could have and should have shown your birth certificate like Sen. McCain did before the 2008 elections.

Oh that’s right you wanted to get a laugh at the expense of the America people. Well hardy har har!

I hope you can pull out some surprise reasonable gas prices and some secret jobs too! Because, “Where’s the Birth Certificate?” can easily be replaced with Where’s the Jobs and where can I find some gas that I can afford!

Nobody laughing? I didn’t think so.

You need to do better research. Before he became POTUS Obama was only a defendant in 4 cases, none of which survived a simple MTD. Cost? Maybe $40K. Since then the US Attorneys have defended him at zero additional cost - they are salaried. So please explain where this two million figure came from. Thanks.

  2. First thank you for admitting three things. According to you, the president did spend money and according to you, he did attempt to keep his birth certificate hidden. Third, he used the Government in this activity.

Now you say that U.S. Attorneys who defended him on birth certificate matters did so at zero additional cost. Not true. And do you really want to stay with that statement?

I understand that most Liberals believe that if the government does something there are no costs. You couldn't be that naive could you?

You have just admitting that salaried U.S. Attorneys defended Soetoro on birth certificate issues meaning that it cost the American people whatever the expenses were.

Also, you need to be a better reader and apologist. First my statement was, "It has been reported" there are several sources that reported the amount two million dollars. However if you were a better reader you'd noticed that I provided two links as sources.

The first source states: According to Federal Election Commission records, Obama For America paid $693,464.18 to international law firm Perkins Coie between January and March 2009.

The campaign has another listing for $5,147.76 to "Hopefund Perkins Coie" during the January to March 2009 period. It also compensated Perkins Coie for legal services between Oct. 16, 2008 and Dec. 31, 2008 – to the tune of $378,375.52.

Robert Bauer of Perkins Coie – top lawyer for Obama, Obama's presidential campaign, the Democratic National Committee and Obama's Organizing for America – is the same Washington, D.C., lawyer defending President Obama in lawsuits challenging his eligibility to be president.
Well over the 40K number you represented.

The second link Gary Kreep, the lawyer representing former presidential candidate Alan Keyes, who sued Obama in California to prevent the state from certifying its election results stated, "[Obama] is spending hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars to keep this information from getting out." Kreep an attorney that is involved in the cases speculates the cost upwards to millions. That’s at least two and up.

A third source, which I didn’t mention, reported, “In total, Obama has paid Perkins Coie, a single law firm, $2.3 million since he announced his campaign for presidency. By contrast, a cumulative total of all of Sen. John McCain's legal consulting fees from Jan. 1, 2007, to June 30, 2009, amounts to $1.46 million.” source Again as I stated, “It has been reported.”

Look I know that it’s popular right now to attempt to debunk the $2mil figure all of the Liberal websites and talking heads are attempting to do it. However facts are facts as I stated, $2 million dollars in cost has been reported otherwise why would you be attempting to refute it?

One thing that I did state going into this topic that is, “While the actual dollar amount may never be known the president revealed that he’s been watching the birth certificate debate for 2 ½ years with amusement.” So I’ve acknowledged that it’s all speculative. Even the 40K figure that you're willing to admit to is speculative.

So I’ve supported my statement while allowing that we may never know. The Soetoro administration isn't going to tell us how much they spent in defending the president’s eligibility. It’s not in their interest to do so.

Bottom line is you have acknowledged that there were cost paid by the president to defend his eligibility and in addition, he use tax paid government attorneys also a cost to the American people.

Therefore, it is more than reasonable and feasible that the cost where at least $2 million dollars but that figure seem to irk Obama defenders for some reason…why?
