With our own economic house falling down around our
ears, why do we still provide so much aid to foreign
countries............... even those that hate us and want to
see us destroyed?
Look at this list, and tell me why, why, we have to send
so much of our national wealth, to nations that neither
deserve it nor appreciate it?
In 2006.......(not even looking at present day)
Egypt received more than $1,795,000,000 total aid.
Jordan received $461,000,000 to leave Israel alone.
Pakistan got $698,000,000 to chase terrorists, with a questionable result.
Peru received $133,000,000 for “drug abatement”.
Kenya got $213,000,000 “free money”.
Haiti received $163,000,000
Russia, our dear friends, received $52,000,000 so that they could confront us more.
West Bank/Gaza got $150,000,000, so that next time there is a terrorist attack on the US,, they
can be seen dancing in the streets once again.
Bosnia received $51,000,000 for “reparations”
With all of the above, corruption remains the major
problem. Many funds wind up in private bank accounts. The leaders get the money, not the people, and ironically, the richer nations receive the most aid..
Congress should remember that charity begins at home!
Brooklyn, that's 33% of the answer. The next 33% of the answer is the Golden Parachutes given to the failed executives of Fannie mae, Freddy Mac, AIG, et. al. The final 34%, the part ignored by most, is the campaign contributions that these defunct financial institutions gave to regulators like Rangel, Dodd, and Obama.
ReplyDeleteThe final 34% is the Campaign Issue that the "WISE" John McCain fails to use. In fact, if Big John doesn't capitalize upon this soon, he'll probably lose the election. The RCP No Tossup Electoral College Map [http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/maps/obama_vs_mccain/?map=10] tells all. McCain trails by 3,2% [http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/us/general_election_mccain_vs_obama-225.html], but even when McCain was leading last week, he still had an 8 Electoral Vode deficit.
Let's hope the John can pull a rabbit out of his hat on Friday, or he'll have to do the Political dissapearing Act in November.
